desires of the majority of the 37th Assembly District's diverse constituency.
2) As a public high school government and history
teacher, Ferial Masry is aware of the
challenges facing our educational system, our youth, and our communities.
YOUR community as a whole benefits when our children get a good education.
Ferial
believes
in fully funding our schools and enhancing pre-school and after-school
programs
for all
our children. If we are successful, your children will get a quality education
that will enable
them to compete for good jobs in today’s globally competitive marketplace.
3) As a former small business owner, Ferial Masry
understands the need to create a climate
that will nurture and sustain vibrant businesses and help create better jobs.
Ferial has
grave concerns about California's burgeoning deficit and the effect it will
have on our
children if the state continues to borrow money. Ferial will work hard to resolve
this
problem without inflicting higher taxes on middle-class families. We need to
protect small
business interests by selecting someone who is not dictated to by large business
special
interests yet will help business grow in California.
4) As a woman, mother, and teacher,
Ferial feels strongly that every child needs to be wanted and welcomed
into a nurturing home. Ferial also believes that medical
issues
between a woman and her doctor are a private matter. By voting for Ferial,
you guarantee that children, women, and families have a political advantage.
5) As the mother of an American soldier who served in Iraq, Ferial believes
that we must do
as much as we can to promote veteran's benefits and make sure that the brave
men and
women in the armed services who are serving and have served our country are
never in
need. Ferial will protect their veterans' rights and uphold their benefits.
Those who have
sacrificed for this great country will not be forgotten!
6) As a citizen of the greater Los Angeles area and living in Ventura County,
Ferial is very
concerned about the safety of the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Hueneme
and
wants more of the Homeland Security Allocations spent on this important area.
7) As an immigrant, Ferial believes that it is incumbent upon all
legislators to reach a fair
and equitable solution to the ongoing problem of undocumented immigration.
Ferial will
find a fair and just solution to these concerns as they affect California
and urge the
Federal Government to do the same. We must put partisan differences aside
and
produce legislation that will resolve these issues because a talemate is
not solving the
core problems of this state.
8) Ferial strongly believes that all the people of California deserve high
quality, affordable
healthcare because this crisis has reached epidemic proportions in every
sector of the
populace and must be dealt with by the legislature. This will also make California
a better
place to do business and become profitable!
9) Ferial strongly believes in quality of life for all Californians and that
requires air that we
can breathe and water we can drink. Children will be healthier when they
have a
clean and healthy environment in which to grow up!
10) As a resident of the 37th Assembly District for 23 years and a candidate
for the 37th
Assembly District, Ferial believes in listening and including ALL constituents:
young& old, parents & educators, business & consumers, Republican and Democrat,
Green & Independent! Ferial pledges to always keep her door OPEN to
individuals and groups to
hear ALL points of view, during her campaign and when she is elected to
the Assembly!
Ferial is honored to be running for the 37th Assembly District seat in 2006
and urges
every eligible voter to vote on Election Day, November 8th, 2006. By exercising
our right
to vote, we participate in and strengthen our great democracy!

California a shining example for the rest of the nation!
